Super-fast app switching – iOS 9 Multitasking Tips and Tricks – Why would you use this?

Super-fast app switching – iOS 9 Multitasking Tips & Tricks

Using this trick will help you become a multitasking master but be warned, it’s something you have to practice with your iOS device.

Other than the obvious use of switching between apps, we found this trick the most useful when switching between apps where copying information is needed. For example, we answer a lot of questions through our Facebook Page using our links, so it’s easy to switch between the Pages App and Bitly.

All you need to do is press on the edge of the iPhone’s screen and swipe left. Swiping to the middle and up will bring you to the Multitasking and swiping all the way across the screen will bring you to the last app that you used.

What are some of the constraints for this iOS Multitasking trick?

Now there are a couple of things that makes this Tip & Trick a little less useful than it could be.

  • It’s finicky as you need to figure out the correct pressure and location of the tap/press and swipes
  • It won’t work for all apps. From our usage, games don’t fare well with this trick
  • Only works on the iPhone 6s variants (or Force Touch specifically)
  • On paper, it’s quicker but because it’s finicky, you might be better off just sticking with the double-click home button method.

As we mentioned above, getting the most out of this trick will require you to practice the gestures a bit but once you get the hang of it, the practicality of the super fast app switching is going to be very useful.
