Light, easy access and “grippy”. What more can you ask for in an iPhone case?

Moshi iGlaze Review - iPhone 6 Cases

Moshi iGlaze Review and iGlaze Armour Review – Thin and light, one of our favourites

Today we’re going to review the iGlaze and iGlaze Armour by Moshi. This is a thin and light iPhone case that has become one of our favourite cases.

The iGlaze Armor is a little fancier than the regular iGlaze as it comes with a metallic back that definitely adds style to your iPhone but we did encounter an issue with the build quality of the case. Handling your iPhone inside both of these cases is great though one is definitely “grippier” than the other. The regular Moshi iGlaze is one of our favourite cases (its Aaron’s wife’s favourite case) and would definitely recommend it to anybody looking for a slim case that will protect your iPhone from the occasional drop.

For our Moshi iGlaze review, we’ve given the iGlaze a score of 4.2 Eh’s out of 5 and the iGlaze Armour a score of 4.0 Eh’s out of 5. There are a couple of small things that bring the Armour version of the case down. If you’re looking for something similar, consider checking out the Griffin Identity, the Pong Radiation case and the Thule Atmos X4. Design – Thin, light and grippy

Moshi iGlaze Review - Slim and Small - iPhone 6 Cases

In terms of design, the iGlaze’s will keep the sleek lines of your iPhone which is unlike the recently reviewed HitCase Pro. They core of the case is made from TPU with the Armour version having a metallic back glued to the back. Getting your iPhone in and out of the Moshi iGlaze is easy but we did encounter an issue with the iGlaze Armour as the metallic back panel started to peel after several installs.

We reached out to Moshi about this problem and they were aware of it and notified me that newer versions of the case have an updated adhesive that should minimize the problem. If you’re thinking about getting this case, consider checking to see if its a newer version by locating the dot between the volume buttons on the inside of the case.

Protection – Not really meant for the clumsy

Moshi iGlaze Review - Build Quality Issues on the Armor version - iPhone 6 Cases

In terms of protection, the Moshi iGlaze isn’t a drop-rated case though the TPU on the case will provide a bit of protection from small drops. We wouldn’t recommend this case if you’re quite clumsy.

There is a cutout on the back of the case (to show your Apple logo) so there is an increased chance that it will get scratched up over time but during our 2+ month usage periods, we didn’t notice any sort of dust/debris collecting anywhere on the case.

Moshi doesn’t include a screen protector but the edges are far enough away that you can easily install a third party screen protector on the case.

Functionality – Great access to everything on your iPhone

This is one of the best parts of this case though you’d think we wouldn’t have to say this for a slim case but we’ve gone through dozens of slim cases that made the iPhone a little harder to use. The buttons on the Moshi iGlaze and iGlaze armour are easy to use and doesn’t take any extra effort to use.

The cutouts on the bottom of the case are large enough to accommodate large-headed lightning cables and headphone jacks. The edges of the case are far enough away from the touchable area of the screen and won’t get in the way of the entire touchscreen.

Again, we gave the Moshi iGlaze a score of 4.2 Eh’s out of 5 and the Armour version 4.0 Eh’s out of 5. Have questions about our Moshi iGlaze Review? Please ask them on our Google+ page or on our Facebook page.

    Hey Aaron.
When you contacted Moshi did they say anything on accommodating for the older models. I recently just picked one up from Best Buy but I don’t see the dot so I’m thinking it’s an older model.

It should be under warranty. I’d go and contact Moshi customer support…you might have to register with them.

      Aaron
