Ballistic Jewel Review – One of the toughest, clear iPhone 7 cases to date

At the time of this review, the Ballistic Jewel (and all the different variations) is #4 case on our Top 10 list and is the toughest clear case to date. The standout features of the case deal with the screen protection and the Ballistic corners.

The Ballistic corners make the Ballistic Jewel seem bigger than it is. The Ballistic Jewel fits the iPhone well and has enough texture to keep an iPhone from sliding around easily on a flat surface. The case weighs almost nothing at 19g’s so you definitely won’t notice the weight on your iPhone. The case will show fingerprinting easily.

The Ballistic Jewel provides your iPhone 7 with 6ft worth of drop-protection despite being smaller than the iPhone 7 Jewel (see the video for the difference). If you need something tougher, check out the Incipio Reprieve Sport.

The Ballistic corners have a hidden benefit as the case provides one of the highest screen clearances for an iPhone 7 case that we’ve seen. The only gripe we had for the Jewel’s regarding protection involves how pliable the edges are on the case.

The iPhone in this Ballistic case handles quite well as the Ballistic corners sit your hand nicely and the rubbery texture of the case ensures that your iPhone won’t slip out of your easily. We had no issues accessing the iPhone in the Ballistic Jewel as the buttons are easy to use and the cutouts for the mute switch and Lightning port are easily located.
