These are the 5 best cases out of the 2 dozen that we’ve reviewed in 2014. If you want a full list of all those cases, check out the link to the comparison page that links to all the cases that we’ve reviewed. You’ll be able to find out why we didn’t like cases such as the the Spigen Tough/Slim armors, any otterbox case and the SpeckCandyShell as these case case. There are a few cases that have potential in this Top 5 list that we haven’t reviewed include the Tech 21 Evo Mesh, Griffin Identity, Spigen Air Skin and the Karbon Si.

The Survivor Core is incredibly slim and protective. It is one of the thinnest iPhone cases that we’ve reviewed and it greatly improves the 1-handed usage of your iPhone. The corners of the case also add to the handling of the case and if you’re an iPhone gamer, this case will help lessen the numb fingers that occur when spending hours playing whatever you play.
Now, we do have to say that this case will scratch incredibly easy. Now, for some it may be a deal breaker but given that the back of the case is transparent, you don’t really see the scratches as much. The buttons do start off a little tougher to use but ease up over time.

The buttons on the case start off a little tougher to use and they ease up over time and some viewers have complained that the case isn’t grippy enough. The case is slightly more expensive than other cases but in our opinion, well worth the money

There isn’t much else to say about this case other than we feel that the look of the case could probably be tidied up a bit. We’re not too fond of how certain parts of the case don’t look uniform but this is a minor thing. We have the cover version of the classic shell and we’re really not too fond of it.

The edges are a little higher on this case and viewers have complained that it makes the iPhone a little more slippery than other cases which we totally agree. Dust/debris protection is a little lower than others as there are cutouts on the back of the case that exposes your iPhone. The buttons area also aren’t fully covered.

This slim case will not provide much protection despite having two layers to the case as our iPhone 6 Plus took a tumble from about three feet and it mauled one of our corners.
As a side note, the belt holster that fits Dilex Pro is quite nice, especially the release mechanism and can be used with other cases like the Incipio Dual Pro.

What in your mind propels the Griffin survivor core in front of the thule atmos x3?.
The price and minimalistic look of the Core is what puts it slightly over the Atmos X3. Both of these cases are really good though, I wouldn't hesitate to buy either one of them.
I just ordered a iPhone 6plus Blason Prime Heavy Duty case before seeing your videos and wondered have you reviewed any Blason products?
Not yet but they're on the list!
Can u do a review of the speck candyshell grip and the pelican protector case
Yes and yes. I have used them both...just need the time to create the reviews for them.
Hi Aaron,
Thank you so much for your detailed, fun, and concise reviews.
I've just upgraded to the iphone 6 and I want something that combines shock and dust protection and slimness.
I was wondering if you've had a chance to review the Sahara case and/or Gorilla glass screen protectors? I read in one Amazon review that the gorilla glass broke the screen when they tried to remove it...

Looks like Sahara is a new company, funded last year via Kickstarter.
Thanks!
Cici
I will check it out! Thanks for the note.
Nothing for the ladies?
What cases would you be looking for?
Hi. I'm hoping you can just give me your ultimate opinion on which case to get for my iPhone 6. I have four kids who aren't allowed on my phone but it does happen. So I just want to know what's going to protect my phone best. Is there a specific case and maybe a separate screen protector or an all in one case? I'm the most indecisive person and would just love for someone with knowledge to suggest which one to get, maybe the one you use. I want it to look good but not as important as protection. I really, really appreciate your help! I'll be sure to subscribe to your page. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
Are you looking for a bulkier case or something relatively slim?
Hey Aaron if you could please try out the iD America ICE case it would be great check it out and also do you know about any metal bumper and clear back cases ?
Aaron, thank you for this excellent website. The reviews are great!
I have heard a lot of talk about bending with the iPhone 6+ but never thought it would be a problem with the iPhone 6. Wrong!! One day I rushed to answer my phone as it was sitting on the table and I forgot that I left it charging. The phone sprang out of my hand and fell on the floor. It bent (slight, but very noticeable to me) and one corner of the screen popped off. I am guessing that the Spigen case I use prevented worse damage.
What is the best of the slim cases as far as preventing the phone from bending? I had a near miss this time- I probably won't be this lucky in the future!
Thanks in advance for your advice :-)
Susan, thanks for the comment. Which Spigen case were you using?
Surprisingly, the iPhone 6 will bend easier than the 6 Plus (6 bends at 70lbs of pressures, 6 Plus bends at 90 lbs according to Consumer reports.)
If you're looking for a complete bend proof iPhone cases, the only ones that we've found are the all-metal bumpers by Draco Design (http://www.mobilereviews-eh.ca/draco-design-aluminum-bumper-review-iphone-6-6-plus/) and 4th Design (we're still review them). These bumpers are made from aluminum and I've tried my hardest to bend them and nothing has happened (http://youtu.be/jW7qGtuyAXg)
I know there is an Incipio case that has two metal pins down the back of the case but I don't think its been released yet.
Aaron, the case I had on my phone was the Spigen iPhone 6 Air Cushion Bumper Case [Ultra Hybrid Series]. I really do believe it saved my phone's screen! I am thinking of going back and looking at some of your slim case recommendations. This accident was kind of strange for me (I usually carry my phone in a wristlet), so I'm looking for a balance between price and protection. Thanks for your advice!
