PROS:
CONS:
If you’re determined to cover your Apple iPhone with another Apple product, this is the right choice. Apple Silicone Case handles really well. Though be warned, the case has the best combination of grippiness and pocket pulling power.
And because it has an Apple logo on it, you’re going to pay through the nose for it, so if you need an alternative, check out the Ballistic Soft Jacket.
Also, the Apple Silicone Case is a bajillion times better than the Apple Clear Case, which is one of the shittiest cases we’ve ever used.
PROS:
CONS:
Peel case is just a simple, thin piece of cheaply made flexible PC. Nothing more. There are so many case manufacturers out there that make these types of cases, and there’s no way to differentiate them.
Ironically, the only way the Peel could differentiate itself is to add branding, like the Caudabe version. We get the no-branding thing. But when there are ways to put your stamp on a product without making it obnoxious, the absence of branding seems lazy.
PROS:
CONS:
We seriously can’t get over how unique 15:21 is. These cases handle well, are water-resistant, and they don’t really show scratches.
Because it’s made of cork, it’s also environmentally friendly and partially biodegradable. The downside is that this case doesn’t offer much protection for your phone. The tops and bottoms are exposed, so get a screen protector at the very least.
Out of the hundreds, if not thousands of cases we’ve seen, touched, and used in the last seven years, the 15:21 cork case is probably the unique case we’ve ever used. Honestly, the 15:21 case looks so cool!
PROS:
CONS:
Spigen Thin Fit is a slightly boring version and won’t offer much protection for your iPhone. The normal Spigen Thin Fit is your run of the mill PC snap-on cover.
The only thing that sets the Spigen Thin Fit from the normal pack of snap-on covers is the ability to add Spigen’s QNAP system to the back of the case which allows for magnetic mounting.
PROS:
CONS:
Spigen Thin Fit 360 is the only case that provides full non-screen coverage for the iPhone 11. It’s perfect for the person who is paranoid about the occasional drop but still wants a minimalistic case. Spigen Thin Fit 360 fits exceptionally well with the two screen protectors included. However, some have commented that the case doesn’t stay together over time, so your mileage might vary.
You can also get Spigen’s magnetic mounting solution, the QNMP, and magnetically mount your iPhone in your car or wherever your mag mount is.
The only downside is that it’s not Qi-compatible, but let’s be honest, Qi-charging sucks.
PROS:
CONS:
The Ballistic Soft Jacket is the toughest silicone case we’ve come across here. This is largely due to its oversized corners, which ensures your screen won’t come contact with the floor. At the same time, the toughness of the case is what contributes to its significant pocket pulling power.
When it comes to silicone cases, if you can’t stomach giving Apple more money or just need a silicone alternative that’s just as good as the Apple Silicone Case, give the Ballistic Soft Jacket a go.
PROS:
CONS:
The UAG Civilian doesn’t look like your standard UAG case. It looks different and has plenty of colors to choose from. Although UAG Civilian might seem like it could save your phone, it doesn’t hold up well to everyday life. The back is too slick, and it handles poorly for something designed to protect a $1,500 iPhone. If such an expensive piece of technology is going into the hands of civilians, they must be able to keep it in their hands.
PROS:
CONS:
The mighty Mous Contour is a case that feels exceptionally thin along the middle of the case.
For our scoring system, we measure cases at their thickest parts, which are usually the corners. However, lots of cases have started tapering the middle of the case, but Mous takes it one step further and tapers the edge of the case as well as the back of the case.
That small design feature reduces the contact area for your fingers so much that it almost fools you into thinking the case is less protective than it is.
It’s a tough case and triple-layered. Quadruple-layered if you include the leatherback. If you need a case that feels thin but is tougher, get the Mous Contour.
Again, not exactly a thin case but handles like one which is one you might want to consider it when you’re trying to figure out what the Best Ultra-Thin and Minimalist Cases for the iPhone 11 is going to be!
PROS:
CONS:
The Smartish Kung Fu grip case will make you think you’ve mastered control over gravity because of how the case handles well. It’s a well designed TPU case with great texture along the edges.
The Smartish Kung Fu has changed slightly over the years as Smartish has added a series of subtle bumps along the edge of the case that adds even more to the handling of the case. It actually makes the case feel more solid.
PROS:
CONS:
LAUT Huex Elements cases look like they were carved from marble and feel like it too. The smooth back and slick edges makes it difficult to handle. It’s a simple TPU case with some cool designs, but overall the marketing promises a bit more than it can fulfill. Not to mention that LAUT Huex Elements’s TPU cover doesn’t sit flush on your iPhone. Nothing like wrapping your way too expensive iPhone with a case that doesn’t fit it well.
PROS:
CONS:
Moshi Vitros’ dot pattern prevents rainbowing on the clear portion of the case. The pliable edges are noticeable and will increase the chance of your iPhone scratching to dust. The handling isn’t entirely terrible, depending on how clammy your hands get.
PROS:
CONS:
If you’re looking for a leather case, the Bellroy Leather Case might take care of that goal. The finish is nice and doesn’t feel overly processed. The Micro-fibre backed interior also provides dust protection against scratches.
However, the Bellroy Leather Case is just a leather-wrapped around your iPhone. The iPhone buttons aren’t covered, which makes pressing the buttons to feel weird. It’s not like the iPhone has recessed buttons, so Bellroy is basically kicking you in the face twice by having awkward cutouts and disrupting the flow of how Apple wants you to interact with the iPhone.
The edges on the case are barely high enough to allow for a screen protector and are quite noticeable as they are quite thin.
The Bellroy Leather Case doesn’t score well in our system, but we’re not totally opposed to it, unlike the Laut case. The thinness, as well as the nice feeling leather, generally keeps this case within arms reach for me.
PROS:
CONS:
The LaterCase is a Pitaka knockoff that was promoted by some famous YouTuber. Personally, the lack of branding bothered us. We’ve done more to brand the case by writing the brand on the nondescript box that the case came in.
For us, the bare-minimum when selling something is to brand it. Even if it means putting it on the inside of the case where nobody will see it, even if it means making your logo so small that it’s going to be hard to see, you still do it. Because when you do, you’re saying, as a business, that we care about this product. The LaterCase had none of that. Not even a piece of paper in the box that said this was a LaterCase.
PROS:
CONS:
Pitaka AirCase is one of the thinnest cases we’ve reviewed. If it were any thinner, it would be a piece of paper towel. Despite it being nearly as light as air, the case handles well.
For the ultra-minimalist, the only thing that’s thinner might be a skin. The downside of this super light case is that it leaves the top and bottom of the iPhone exposed and has extremely low edges, which leaves your screen protector exposed.
Pitaka doesn’t brand the outside of the case because we think they realize that stamping their name on the product might take away from the look of the product. So they put it on the inside which is a great place to demarcate your product.
PROS:
CONS:
Between the Pitaka AirCase and Pitaka MagCase, we like the Pitaka MagCase because of the extra rigidity. The Pitaka AirCase just seemed too thin for us.
If you’re not like us, then you might just find yourself being drawn toward the Pitaka MagCase. Pitaka MagCase has magnets in it which means it is also compatible with the Pitaka’s car mounted Qi-charger. However, we wouldn’t get too charged up about this one as it won’t offer your phone much protection either.
This combination of thinness and modularity is the reason why we think the Pitaka MagCase is one of the Best Ultra-Thin and Minimalist Cases for the iPhone 11!
PROS:
CONS:
If you’ve chosen the Caudabe Veil case, — we sincerely hope you don’t drop your phone. Made for the ultra-minimalist, Caudabe Veil is one of the thinnest on the list that covers the entire edge of the iPhone. The edges of Caudabe Veil can also sit flush with an actual 3D screen protector if you have one on your iPhone.
The only problem we have is that the Caudabe Veil case may stretch.
PROS:
CONS:
Since iPhones are a powerful tool that can rest in the palm of your hand, it makes sense that the Caudabe would build a sheath for it. Caudabe Sheath is very similar to the Smartish Kung Fu Grip in the way that it has excellent handling because of the texture of the case. Small accents make the Caudabe Sheath stand out when compared to other cases. While it’s not the thinnest case, the thicker material means that it can handle the occasional drop. But don’t go out of your way to.
PROS:
CONS:
Caudabe Synthesis is one of our personal favourite thin cases. While it doesn’t handle as well as other Caudabe products, it’s the toughest one. The raised back of this case ensures that the back of the case stays scratch free longer. There’s a bit of a ridge on the edge of the case that helps with handling despite the Caudabe Synthesis having an otherwise slick texture.
PROS:
CONS:
If you’re looking for a case that will offer some protection in a few different ways, the Tech21 Studio Color might be an option for you. As an eco-friendly option, Tech21 Studio Color is made partially from plants. It’ll also protect you from germs as it is antimicrobial.
The Tech21 Studio Color doesn’t fit the iPhone too tightly and is a little slick, but to offset these shortcomings, Tech 21 claims that the case offers eight-foot drop protection. For being a simple TPU case.
PROS:
CONS:
The Razer ArcTech Slim is a unique product that is designed to cool down your iPhone while gaming — and it works! The ArcTech Slim is basically a PC Snap On Cover with a layer of thermal paste sandwich between the case layers.
However, the biggest downside with Razer ArcTech Slim is that it is very slick.
PROS:
CONS:
The Ghostek Exec 4 case isn’t one that will leave you feeling haunted by your choice.
If you need a removable wallet case that can attach to your mag mount, get the Ghostek Exec 4. Sure it nullifies the Qi-charging, but Qi-charging sucks, so not being able to use it isn’t a deal-breaker for us.
The thin case is covered a soft rubber coating that handles well. Still, we will note that the back is slightly more exposed as the modular accessories are attached via slide, so dust and debris may become an issue in the long term and may not leave your phone in the most optimum condition.
