Clear-Coat Fusion Screen Protector – One of the best out there

Today we’re going to do a review of Clear-Coats Fusion Screen Protector. This is a plastic screen protector that has self-healing properties, is washable and offers decent impact protection. And it does all this while keeping the clarity of the iPhone’s touchscreen.

For our Clear-Coat Fusion Review, we’ve given it a score of 4 Eh’s out of 5. We’ve reviewed two other screen protectors that are self-healing which are the InvisibleShield HDX and the Tech 21 Impact Shield and we have to say that the Fusion is much better than both of them. In the review below, we’ve got two main reasons why the Fusion is better the HDX and Impact Shield or check out this comparison chart!

If you’re looking for glass screen protectors, check out all the comparison stool that we’ve created all the screen protectors that we’ve reviewed.

Design – Its like a brand new screen protector everyday

In terms of design, the Fusion is easy to install but the best is that the screen protector is washable so if you get too much dust under screen protector or something during the install goes awry, you can easy take it off, wash it and re-apply. The re-applicability of the screen protector, coupled with their warranty makes the Fusion screen protector a great product. This is the first reason why its better than the HDX and Impact shield.

In terms of the fit, the screen protector will only cover the touchable area of the iPhone which isn’t great but it means that you can use it with any case. It’s not terribly thick as we registered it at 0.25 mm’s but since the edges aren’t rounded, you’re going definitely feel it on your iPhone.

Protection – Scratches easier than glass but it heals so it doesn’t matter!

In terms of protection, the Fusion fared about as well as the Tech 21 Impact Shield and a little better against the Invisible Shield HDX. We used Clear-Coats screen protector for 5 weeks and general usage hasn’t resulted in any permanent scratches. Purposely scratching it with keys and coins didn’t leave a mark, though a knife scratch resulted in a small mark but sandpaper definitely left a mark (but no screen protector that we’ve tested can hold up against sandpaper)

In terms of impact protection, Clear-Coat claims that it is three times as tough as the iPhones touchscreen. In our review video, we took a hammer to the screen and it worked out for the screen protector and the iPhone.

Functionality – The curved edge makes all the difference

Sensitivity of the screen protector is fine as the edges are pretty responsive but its the viewability of the Fusion that is the number two reason to get this screen protector when compared to the HDX and impact shield. The Fusion doesn’t diffuse the iPhone’s touchscreen which may be a small thing but why would you get something that takes away from the thing that you spend the most time looking at on your iPhone?

  • Was going to buy K11 Thano Tech for my new I phone 6 in large part your glowing endorsement. Do you recommend or have reviewed their E2E Screen Protector. And they are asking 29.99. With this bumper does anyone put plastic cover on back prevent scratching back cover?

    • Their E2E fits really well with the bumper. I have one on my 6s Plus right now and it is rock solid.

    • I haven't used a plastic cover for the back of any iPhone. Generally the back doesn't get scratched up much from my experience (14+ iPhone 6's later)
