Incase Smart SYSTM review – Solid feeling case but handles like a bar of wet soap

Today we’re going to do a review of Incase’s Smart SYSTM. This is one of the hardest feeling iPhone cases we’ve reviewed and is so slick that it handles almost like a bar of wet soap. Sort of. Despite the soap comment, we will say that its makes our iPhones feel pretty solid.

For our Incase Smart SYSTM review, we’ve given it a score of 4 Eh’s out of 5 which is a little lower than the average score for a slim case. It loses most of its marks due to the “wet bar of soap handling”. The handling of the iPhone inside this case pales in comparison to the Ungrip we just reviewed and fall’s completely short of the Spigen Thin Fit Hybrid and Spigen Tough Armor Tech as well. Design- Sounds fancy but it needs more grip

Regarding design, the Smart SysTM is fairly small despite being a dual-layered case. The build quality of the case is quite nice as the case does make the iPhone feel solid but the lack of texture in the case is a problem. There is almost no chance that you’d be able to use the bigger iPhone with one hand safely with the case. The case doesn’t show wear and tear as much as other cases with a hard shell, but a drop on concrete may leave a mark.

Protection – Makes the iPhone feel solid

The Smart SysTM isn’t officially drop rated though we’d feel comfortable dropping our larger iPhone from a height of 4 ft in the case. The liner on the inside of the case is supposed to absorb impact and distribute shock. The edges of the case are high enough for a thicker glass screen protector and should be compatible with most edge to edge screen protectors. They are high enough to keep the front of your iPhone off a flat surface. The edges of the case are fairly rubbery so placing it face first on a flat surface will keep it in place whereas putting on the back of the case will result in the iPhone flying off the surface…like a wet bar of soap.

Functionality – Button access is great on the case

Access to your iPhone is quite nice in the case. The buttons on the case are large and are quite easy to press. The edges do not get in the way of accessing your iPhone, and the cutouts are large enough for 3rd party cables.
