Spigen Rugged Armor Review – Galaxy S7 (and S7 Edge)

The Spigen Rugged Armor is our least favourite tough cases made by Spigen. The handling of the S7 inside the Rugged Armor is quite poor (unless that’s what you want in a case). This S7 case is drop-rated even though it feels quite flimsy in our hands.

The Rugged Armor looks “grippy” but the texture isn’t enough to keep in our hands easily. The Samsung Galaxy S7 is a relatively heavy phone, and we ended up dropping the device on the table several times while trying to pick it up. The Rugged Armor does have an advantage over the Spigen Tough and Slim Armors as the buttons on the case are readily available, and the entire setup is just slightly smaller.

For our Spigen Rugged Armor Review, we’ve given this S7 case a score of 3.1 Eh’s out of 5. The Rugged Armor is one of our lowest rated cases and is right there with the Spigen Liquid Crystal and Thin Fit though those two cases rate poorly regarding protection. If you don’t mind something bigger, the Otterbox Commuter and Tech 21 Evo Check are decent choices if you’re looking for something non-Spigen.
