Based on our time with Carved’s wooden traveller cases, we’ve given it a score of 4.3 Eh’s out of 5. We don’t usually review wood cases so there isn’t much to compare this against and given that these cases are so minimalistic. In terms of design, the wood portion of the traveller case is made from real wood that hand crafted which is then glued onto the back of a polycarbonate case. Installation of your iPhone is simple and Carved’s polycarbonate bumper has a lot of texture on it which makes your iPhone easier to handle.

In terms of protection, the polycarbonate case is tight fitting and will keep dust and debris out. The edges of the case are high enough to keep the iPhone off a flat surface and won’t interfere with true-edge-to-edge screen protectors.

Access to your iPhone is decent as nothing really gets in the way. Cutouts are big enough for cables and buttons are easy to access through the case. Again, there isn’t much to this case hence our very short review!
Now, Carved allows you to really make this wood case yours as it allows you to customize your case with an image so if you’re looking to be a little different, you can be. Or if you want to be really different, you can get one of their solid wood cases which are completely unique. Some of them look pretty incredible especially the resin filled cases.

I had a Traveller case on my iPhone 6 for a year and on an iPhone 6S for first week -- black wood veneer that was laser-engraved with my surname and a shamrock. I used an X-acto knife to enlarge the openings at the bottom.
I really liked the appearance and the feel and the protection of my Traveller case.

I revisit Carved.com each day hoping to see newly-issued Satellite-series Traveler cases for sale.
When I don't see anything new (those that Carved had made weeks ago had sold), I click a link to see if any new 'Solid Wood' cases have been made and posted for sale.
Tonight I see three recycled-skateboard cases for sale at $119 each. Wow.
I had thought that all Solid Wood cases were priced at $99 because I saw the edition-of-fifty Breast Cancer Research Foundation cases are priced at $99. I suppose that cases that are made of several skateboard decks are priced at $119 because they cost more labor.
What a price jump up from the better-cushioned and easier-to-grip Traveler cases.
One day that I visited the 'Live Edge' cases page, Carved had posted a newly-made one for sale at $149.
I love Carved cases! Great design, and I like that you can make your own designs. Unfortunately my latest one broke after dropping it one too many times. Right now I'm using an Otterbox, and although it's clunky and not super good-looking, its protective!
