The Poetic Quarterback is a slightly below average case in our opinion. There is a unique feature along the edge of the case that we like, but it doesn’t do as well as the Poetic Affinity.

The Poetic Quarterback reminds us a lot of the Tech 21 Tactical as it is just as slick when it comes to handling. For our Poetic Quarterback review, we’ve given this S7 case a score of 3.4 Eh’s out of 5. The quarterback is one of our lower rated cases as its a tad better the Patchworks Flexguard. The biggest drawback of this case comes from the texture of the case.

The Poetic Quarterback isn’t a bulky case. It’s the same size as the Poetic Affinity which means it’s better than most cases. The Quarterback fits well together, but the backside of the case is quite slick which means you could use the S7 in this case for a round of air hockey. Unlike the Affinity, the Quarterback will wear better as the back will hide scratches quite well.

For protection, the different materials of the case are fused together but do no overlap so we’re going to consider the Quarterback a single-layered case. The edges of the case are high enough to keep the S7 off a flat surface. The TPU is rigid enough to prevent dust from collecting along the sides of the case. The Poetic Quarterback is not drop-rated.

Getting to the Galaxy S7 is quite nice as the buttons are easy to use. We’re a big fan of the double edges along the edge of the case as we found it significantly enhancing our grip on the S7 Edge. With that being said, the corners of the case are quite slick which means 1-handed usage takes a bit of a hit. The edges of the case do not get in the way of accessing the screen, and the ports and cameras are not hindered in any way.
