Speck Candyshell Fit Review – Apple Watch

The Speck Candyshell Fit is a decent Apple Watch accessory that doesn’t take away from the design of the Apple Watch

The Speck Candyshell Fit is one of the better Apple Watch accessories that we’ve come across. It may not provide the most protection for the watch (but seriously, how much protection does your watch need?) but will protect it from the occasional wall scratch. It doesn’t take away from the design of the Apple Watch though accessing the screen on the watch may be a little tougher with the Speck Candyshell Fit.

For our review, we’ve given this Apple Watch accessory a score of 4 Eh’s out of 5. This is one of the better Apple Watch accessories as its up there with the Spigen Tough Armor and does better than the Griffin Survivor Tactical. If you’re wondering how it stacks up against all our Apple Watch accessories, check out our comparison tool!

Design – A Speck Candyshell product that doesn’t look awful

We’ve reviewed many Speck products and the polycarbonate used on their Candyshell cases tend to get scratched up quickly and is very noticeable on the cases. With the Apple Watch case, the scratching is less noticeable and that material works better in our opinion.

The Speck Candyshell Fit clips on the front of the Apple Watch and fits well though a hard bump on a table or wall may knock the case off the Apple Watch. Other instances that have caused the case to fall off include putting our hands into our pockets and stringing our arms through backpack straps.

The case has no screen protector but has high edges that reduce the practicality of the case a bit. With all of that being said, the Speck Candyshell Fit doesn’t take away from the general design of the Apple Watch.

Protection – Full coverage protection plus more!

This Speck product provides a slightly higher amount of protection for the Apple Watch due to the high edges on the case but isn’t as tough as the Spigen Tough Armor and Griffin Survivor Tactical. There isn’t an included screen protector with the product.

Practicality – Great for protection, not great for the Apple Watch

Regarding the practicality of this Apple Watch case, we would have to say that its better than other cases. It offers a higher amount of protection while keeping the general design of the Apple Watch. The one button isn’t hard to get to and the cutout for the Digital Crown is quite large but is recessed enough that it sits flush along the edge of the case.

The only issue that we have with this product are the high edges around the screen protector which are very noticeable when interacting with the Apple Watch.
